Founded in 2024, VinNY is a New York based brand designed with the intention that streetwear can be connected to the natural world.
My creative journey began with exploring environmental themes in fine art and gradually expanded into fashion, a medium that has always inspired me. In 2024, I began creating graphics inspired by birds and wildlife that blend nature with urban structure. After experimenting with printing methods such as direct to garment and print on demand, VinNY Label launched June ‘24 to bring together environmental awareness and creative expression.
VinNY’s logo was designed with the idea of blending the symmetry and geometric rhythm of New York cityscapes with a looser, more playful, nature inspired feel. After exploring several more structured and bold iterations, I ultimately chose to keep the jagged “VINNY” mark as the brand’s core logo and visual identity.
Much of my bird-related work and many of VinNY’s graphics draw inspiration from Audubon’s detailed illustrations of birds in their natural environments. By removing those traditional settings and arranging the birds in symmetrical and geometric compositions, these designs emphasize both their ecological importance of birds and their beauty as a symbol of self expression.
VinNY’s graphics bring together the structured and rhythmic essence of city life with the vibrancy and harmony found in nature, using North American bird species as a visual that brings us back to nature.
