I explored numerous research methods such as interviewing vintage shoppers, gathering data through a Google Form, and conducting a competitive analysis of online resale platforms.

Vintrove connects vintage clothing enthusiasts through a marketplace and forums for sharing style tips and stories. It fosters direct buyer-seller interaction for a more informed and sustainable shopping experience.

I designed Vintrove in Figma, using feedback from vintage lovers and user interviews. These revealed common frustrations, leading to the problem statement: vintage shoppers often face limited product details and poor communication on resale platforms.

Vintrove

Community and Marketplace

I used a grid-based system with clear visual hierarchy to improve readability, using color, value, and icons to guide users intuitively.

Originally the search page served as the home screen. Based on peer feedback, I separated them by keeping search focused on shopping and creating a new homepage with forums and vintage communities to enhance engagement and sales.

Working on Vintrove in Figma taught me how to create a cohesive design system that supports both marketplace functionality and community features. I got better at using components, auto layout, and prototyping to build a scalable, user-friendly interface that made the experience feel intuitive and engaging for vintage shoppers and collectors.

Ideate

Organization App for Creatives

Ideate is a creative tool for capturing and organizing ideas on personalized boards. Users can upload content, explore AI-driven inspiration, and view posts from friends. I designed it in Figma, shaped by feedback from creatives and campus interviews.

The core problem: creatives need a simple, centralized way to save ideas and files from anywhere. Ideate helps tackle creative block, disorganized notes, and collaboration challenges across fields like design, art, architecture, and academia.

My design system emphasized reusable components, including buttons with clear states (navigation, overlays, or disabled) and directional navigation elements.

Midway through designing Ideate, a peer noted the app lacked standout features. Initially focused on creating, organizing, and uploading to collections, this feedback led me to add a community sharing feature and AI powered recommendations for posts and categories.

Designing Ideate taught me the value of user centered design and early feedback in shaping features and interactions. I also saw how a strong design system boosts both usability and creative flexibility.
